U.S. search engine giant Google plans to launch their first mobile phone next week, and it is expected to be on sale at the end of October. Google hopes this will share the Christmas shopping season market with Apple's iPhone.
U.S. telecommunications operator T-Mobile will release the first smart phone Dream driven by Google developed software on the 23rd of this month, and this may pose a threat to iPhone and BlackBerry's market share.
Mobile phone manufacturer HTC is optimistic about sales of this new mobile phone whose targeted users will be those proficient in science and technology. The Google mobile phone's shape and tactility is a bit different from iPhone, and may be relatively heavier, but it has a rotating full keyboard as well as BlackBerry-style track ball to facilitate navigation.
The phone can operate a series of Google applications, including Gmail, Docs word-processing, Maps, Chrome browser, and has global positioning function.
