The U.S. Congress and the White House reached a tentative deal on a bailout bill on Sunday.

House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the two sides had made progress on the bill. "We have to get it committed to paper so we can formally agree," she said.

Media reports said the House and the Senate could vote on the 700-billion U.S. dollar bill on Sunday and Monday respectively.
