Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said Wednesday that the U.S.-hosted summit on the global financial crisis should involve more countries.
An international financial summit is necessary to seek a solution for the world crisis, said Chavez.
However, the meeting's participation is too limited, and "there are other countries which should be listened to," Chavez said.
The meeting should involve "not only the so-called big countries of the world," he added.
The United States announced Wednesday that leaders from a group of 20 rich and emerging countries would gather in Washington on Nov. 15 to hold a summit to review the global financial architecture.
The so-called G-20 includes the Group of Seven (G-7) advanced industrial countries and the European Union as well as China, Brazil, India, Russia, South Korea and other major economies.
The G-7 is composed of the United States, Japan, Britain, Germany, France, Italy and Canada.
