Stocks close higher in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil

Latin America's three major stock markets ended higher on Thursday.

Mexico City's IPC stock index rose by 4.81 percent to 19,710.10 points. A total of 321 million shares were traded with a value of about 420 million U.S. dollars.

At the Buenos Aires stock market, the Merval index closed at 1,015.90 points, up 0.75 percent. The trade volume was 20.6 million dollars.

In Sao Paulo, Latin America's biggest bourse, the leading Bovespa index closed at 35,993 points, up 4.71 percent. The trade volume was 1.668 billion dollars.
