Thomson Reuters PLC, a leading news and financial data supplier, will be removed from the Dow Jones Media Titans 30 and Dow Jones U.K. Titans 50 indexes, according to the index provider.
In a statement released by Dow Jones Indexes on Monday, Thomson Reuters is being removed due to its delisting from the London Stock Exchange.
A French media company Publicis Groupe S.A. will fill the spot in the Media Titans 30 Index, while British energy company Tullow Oil PLC will take the seat in the U.K. Titans 50 Index.
The changes will be effective before the open of trading on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009.
Also on Monday, index compiler FTSE confirmed that Thomson Reuters will be replaced by luxury goods group Burberry in the FTSE 100 index in London.
Thomson Reuters decided to delist from the FTSE 100 because it wanted to simplify its capital structure and eliminate the persistent discount at which the London shares have traded to North American shares, according to a Reuters report. Source:Xinhua
