Vietnam and Cuba on Monday signed an Action Plan for the period 2009-2010 designed to boost cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
The action plan, signed during the 4th Entrepreneur Forum in Havana, aims to boost rice harvest in Cuba and to extend the road infrastructure.
The plan includes efforts to boost the textile production and to create a joint venture of electronics.
Visiting Vietnamese President Mguyen Minh Triet urged both countries to "develop a special cooperation ... to exploit the existing potentials."
Cabrisas said Vietnam is not only a rice suppliers, but also an important supplier of computers, among others.
Triet on Monday announced to donate to Cuba 3,000 tons of rice, 500 TVs, 500 computers, 8,000 notebooks, and 600 pairs of shoes.
On Sunday, Triet met Cuban Leader Raul Castro, who decorated him with Jose Marti Order, the highest honor Cuba given to foreign leaders.
