The London stock market's benchmark index FTSE 100 slid further Monday noon over renewed fears about an economic recession in the United States.
By 12:15 GMT, the FTSE 100 was down 99.70 points, or 1.7 percent, at 5,784.60, with financial stocks bearing the largest falls -- HBOS down 5.9 percent, Alliance & Leicester shedding off 5.4%. Source:Xinhua
