London stock market opens lower following U.S., Asian markets |

The London stock market opened lower on Wednesday as the FTSE tracked falls in the United States and Asian markets.
By 0814 BST, the FTSE 100 was down 28.6 points at 6,232.4. Carphone Warehouse fell 3.1 percent after it sold a 50 percent stake in its retail unit to U.S. firm Best Buy.
Unilever shares rose 4.5 percent after it reported better-than-expected sales for the first quarter.
Fashion retailer Next however rose 3.8 percent despite reporting an 8.9 percent fall in like-for-like sales for the 13 weeks to April 23. Source:Xinhua
