Russia and Kazakhstan should increase oil export to the East, especially China, Chairman of Russian Federation's Council Committee for CIS Affairs Vadim Gustov said Wednesday.

Russia and Kazakhstan have cooperated very well in exporting oil and natural gas to the West. And now as the market in the region is growing fast, both countries should step up energy exports to the East, especially China, Gustov said at the International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference (KIOGE-2008) in Almaty, Kazakhstan, according to Kazakh Telegraph Agency.

Currently, the two countries are continuously deepening their cooperation in oil exploitation and processing, he said, adding that they should build an oil alliance to consolidate the sellers' position in the international oil market.
