Germany's stocks opened mixed on Tuesday at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX, index of 30 big companies, rose 19.43 points, or 0.39 percent, to 5,003.42 at 09:04 local time (0804GMT).
The index of medium-sized firms, MDAX, lost 9.07 points, or 0.16 percent, to 5,836.66.
The TecDAX, the index of technology companies, declined 5.91 points, or 1.10 percent, to 531.23.
