China’s Foreign Ministry said that the BRIC shares common interests and concerns in international affairs and should consolidate cooperation.
At the press conference on June 4, Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gaing said China, Russia, India and Brazil are four major emerging economies and are playing an increasingly important role in the world.
He added that the four countries share common interests and concerns in international affairs. It is necessary for the BRIC to strengthen dialogue, coordination and cooperation to enhance the overall voice and influence of emerging markets and developing countries, and promote world peace, stability and universal development.
Relevant information about China’s participation in the first BRIC Summit will be released at an apropriate time, said the spokesman.
