Fiat reports $397m loss

Fiat Group SpA, which took a 20 percent stake in Chrysler LCC last year, reported a fourth-quarter loss of 281 million euros ($397 million) due to falling sales of trucks and construction equipment.
That compares with a net profit of 163 million euros in the same period a year earlier.
Full-year losses totaled 838 million euros, compared with earnings of 1.6 billion euros for all of 2008. Fourth quarter revenues were up 3.5 percent to 13.6 billion euros compared with 13.1 billion euros a year earlier.
