Based on the 2010 billionaire list Forbes Magazine released Wednesday, the BBC selected the world's top 26 Internet billionaires Thursday and five Chinese entrepreneurs are on the list.
The five include Tencent founder Ma Huateng who is ranked 10th, Li Yanhong, founder and CEO of Baidu (11th), Netease founder Ding Lei at 14th spot, Shi Yuzhu, founder of Giant Interactive (17th) and Ma Yun, founder, chairman and chief executive of Alibaba at 25th place .
The richest Internet billionaires are Sergey Brin and Larry Page, the pair who set up Google in the late 1990s.
There are 11 American Internet entrepreneurs on the list, three Japanese and two Canadians.
"The Internet has created some of the world's youngest billionaires, possibly in the shortest possible time scale, ever," the BBC said.
