Contracts worth 590 bln yuan signed at Economy and Trade Fair

A total of 1,339 investment projects worth 591.14 billion yuan were signed during the 10th Western China International Economy & Trade Fair, which ended on October 21.
  
The 2009 Western China International Economy & Trade Fair focused on political and economic integration, and collaborative development. The fair is a platform for economic cooperation, and was attended by exhibitors from 88 countries and regions, of which 29 were headed by foreign ministerial-level officials. Under the guidance of the Chinese government, Chinese enterprises actively participated in various events including Sino-EU Cooperation Week, Sino-South Korean Cooperation Week, and Cambodia and Vietnam-oriented activities, achieving fruitful results.

The fair realized a historic breakthrough in terms of the number of attendees, exhibitors and activities, and the main content of the activities. Over 60,000 Chinese and overseas investors from 88 countries and regions attended this year's fair. The Chinese participants came from 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities and Xinjing Production and Construction Corps.

Statistics show that 12 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in Western China and Xinjing Production and Construction Corps signed 1,339 investment projects with a total investment of 591.14 billion yuan at the fair. The trade turnover for the fair reached 144.66 billion yuan.
