China National Nuclear Corporation has signed a long-term contract with Canadian uranium supplier Cameco Corp., according to the Web site of China's State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC).
This marks the starting point of the cooperation in the field of low-carbon energy between China, the world's fastest-developing country in nuclear energy, and Canada, the world's top uranium producer.
The uranium supply contract has a duration of ten years, and a total of over 10,000 tons of natural uranium will be shipped to China.
