Defending champion Tommy Robredo from Spain was stunned by Peruvian Lius Horna 6-1, 1-6, 6-1 in his opening match at the Swedish Open on Monday.

The 25-year-old Spaniard, who beat Russian Nikolay Davydenko in a one-sided final last year, was unable to cope with the aggressive tactics of Horna, who won several decisive points with his frequent net approaches.

Robredo became the top seed when Serbian Novak Djokovic, who suffered back and toe injuries at Wimbledon, decided to pull out of the claycourt tournament.
