Spanish soccer giant Real Madrid on Monday named Germany's Bernd Schuster as its new coach for the next three seasons, officials told a press conference. Schuster, 47, who trained Spanish team Getafe during the last two seasons, takes over from Italy's Fabio Capello, who was sacked at the end of June, despite winning the team's first trophy in four years. Schuster will ear 480,000 euros. "I know what I have gotten myself into, and in which club I am. My philosophy is to be demanding and wherever I have been I have always demanded the best. I have been in teams where one could not demand league titles. Now demanding the best is not just winning a title, but creating a football that we all enjoy," he said. He said the team would have to maintain their quality, and do all that he asked. "With the exception of the goalkeeper, the rest of the team will have to commit to playing well and they will have to think of the audience. The most beautiful thing is to see people happy, even if sometimes things do badly," Schuster said. He said that he did not want to speak about signings, although he did not hesitate to praise Kaka and Cesc. Real Madrid president, Ramon Calderon, told the reporters that "Schuster had been a great player and is now a great manager, but beyond all of this he is a great person. I can say that it was very easy to welcome one of those most brilliant players we have had at this club."
