The second batch of 25 competitors arrived at the Ben Aknoun Games Village Monday evening after a draining 22-hour journey.

The opening ceremony of the All Africa Games is expected to start at 6:00pm in the Olympic Stadium in the Algerian capital, signaling the start of Africa''s biggest sporting bonanza.

Uganda returns to Algeria, the place of the East African nation''s best showing at these Games in 1978, when a haul of seventeen medals (3 gold, 7 silver and 7 bronze medals) putting Uganda in an all time high 9th in the final table standings.
