South Korea was held by Saudi Arabia 1-1 in an Asian Cup group D match in Jakarta on Wednesday.

South Korea tried to broke Saudi Arabian defense line with speed while the latter worked hard to control the rhythm.

The two side played a balanced game in the first half though South Korea gained slight advantage.

South Korea gradually controlled the match after the interval and was rewarded in the 66th minute when Cho Jae Jin powered the ball home with a header.

Then Saudi Arabia launched counter attacks and gained a penaltykick in the 75th minute. Midfielder and captain Yasser Al Qahtani calmly sent the ball into the net and equalized the score.

Part of the power suddenly went off in the 84th minute and the match came to a stop. The match restarted after some 30 minutes when part of the power was recovered.

Both sides failed to score again.
