Indonesian technicians were working to fix the power system on Thursday at its biggest soccer stadium after a blackout during the Asian Cup match between South Korea and Saudi Arabia Wednesday.
"It was embarrassing, no question about that," said John Halmahera, a spokesman for the local organizing committee.
He added that stadium workers will make sure it will not happen again in Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.
The stadium is hosting all the Group D matches, a quarterfinal and the July 29 final. The Saudi coach called the state of the training pitches a "disaster" after Wednesday's match. The match between South Korea and Saudi Arabia match ended in a 1-1 tie.
Gelora Bung Karno Stadium was built in 1962. Indonesia spent around 8 million US dollars on renovations to get the venue ready for this year's tournament.
