Dogged Bahrain side persevered in until the last minute and finally won over South Korea 2-1 in a match of Asian Cup D group here on Sunday, created another big dark horse in the tournament.

South Korean has a wonderful beginning but heart-struck ending. At the 4th minute, the No. 8, Kim Do Heon, received a header cross in the front of Bahrain's box and made a easy goal.

Later, the Koreans controlled the procession of the match with organizing attacks patiently.

But maybe they are a little more relaxed. At the 43rd minute, a Bahrain player suddenly kicked a punching ball in the midfield and No, 14, Salman Isa, successfully breaking the opponents' offside strategy, kicked a small angle goal with calmness.

In the second half time, South Koreans launched dozens of attacks but none of them changed into a goal.

At the 85th minute, by dint of South Korean defender's low- grade misplay, Ismaeel Abdullatif, No 11 of Bahrain, added the score to 2 and exceeded South Korea.

Bahrain players withstood the high pressure from the opponents in the last 10 minutes of the match, and did not give anymore opportunities to them.

The match ended with Bahrain winning over South Korea 2-1, the second dark horse in the group matches of 2007 Asian Cup after Iraq beating Australia.

The situation of Group D now is very delicate. To win the match over Indonesia is the last chance for South Korean players, but considering Indonesians' performances in the two matches before and thousands of hundreds of local frantic fans, their task is very arduous.
