The ongoing 2007 Pan American Games are in mourning for three days due to the accident with Flight JJ3054 at Congonhas airport in Sao Sao Paulo, organizers said on Wednesday.
The Pan American Sports Organization (PASO) executive committee said in a press release that during the mourning period, a minute of silence will be observed before the first event of the day in all individual competitions of all disciplines in which Brazilian athletes take part, and in the matches in which Brazilan teams play.
In the meantime, the Brazilian delegation to the Pan-American Games will wear a black ribbon in all disciplines, head of the Brazilian delegation said.
