Cuban leader Fidel Castro told Wednesday's Cuban state newspaper Granma that he is not missing the Pan American Games, which is being held in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro.

"I have lived the highs and lows of the Cuban delegation and sometimes I forget to eat or take a pill," he said.

Castro praised the Cuba's taekwondo gold medallist Gerardo Ortiz, who battled past the United States's Anthony Graff in the 80kg final in spite of a clear injury.
