The Federation of Ugandan Football Associations (FUFA) has invited 38 players to start residential training ahead of the regional U-17 CECAFA championship.

The national U-17 squad of the East African nation is expected to start preparations on July 27 at Kisubi Technical Institute along Entebbe Road.

"We have finalized everything that is needed in a camp and we are planning to train for two weeks. Daily training will be done at Kisubi Technical while the team resides at Nabinonya Resort Beach," said FUFA's publicist Rogers Mulindwa.

Only 20 players would make the trip to the Burundian capital of Bujumbura for the Eastern and Central African Football Association (CECAFA) tournament, which is scheduled to take place between August 11-25.

Bunnamwaya FC head coach Richard Wasswa who recently returned from a coaching course in Spain has been handed the task of winning the event.

Villa's Paul Nkata is appointed as assistant while Livingstone Kyambadde is expected to coordinate the team.
