Uganda has dropped eight rungs to 99th in the latest FIFA World rankings released by the world football governing body this week.

The setback of the East African country's national team comes after their 0-0 draw with Lesotho in the African Nations Cup qualifiers played on June 19 in Maseru. However, Lesotho improved by three places to 145th after the draw.

Uganda rose to 91st after beating West African giants Nigeria 2-1 in June jumping three places from their previous status. Nigeria is ranked 25th, up seven places from their previous ranking.

Uganda entered the FIFA rankings in August 1993 at 104th but its unpredictable fluctuations over the last 14 years place it 101st on average.

Cranes' best ever ranking was 66th in April 1995 and its all-time low was 121st in July 2002.
