Australian Allan Davis claimed the stage victory again here on Thursday, but he and his Discovery Channel team both agreed that the yellow jersey of the Tour de Qinghai Lake was far to reach. During the 207.8km sixth stage from Xining to Minhe then back to Xining, riders could hardly break away successfully because the road was quite flat. After dashing across the finish line with more than 60 riders almost in the same time, Davis on green jersey raised his arms with clinched fists. "It''s the teamwork once again," said Davis who finished the longest stage in rain with a result of four hours 49 minutes and 24 seconds. However, the 26-year-old leading sprinter thought his possibility of winning the whole race was "zero". "The guy with the yellow jersey is four minutes in front of me and there will be two mountainous stages in the following days. So it''s very difficult. "I think the mountain climbers in the team will show their guts in the next few days. I will probably be working for them," said Davis. "I think we can hardly grab the yellow jersey," Li Fuyu echoed his teammate Davis. The 29-year-old Chinese rider admitted that Davis'' accident at the fourth stage made the yellow jersey almost unreachable. Li said, "Allan slipped off at the fourth stage and the whole squad spent a few minutes waiting for him." [1] [2]
