Canada captured two gold medals in rowing on Thursday at the Pan American Games.

Nathalie Maurer, Zoe Hoskins, Peggy Hyslop and Cristin McCarty took the women's quad event in seven minutes 42.62 seconds. The United States was second in 7:43.17 and Argentina third in 7:50.29.

Canada added a second gold in lightweight men's four. Adam Reynolds, Andrew Borden, John Haver and Paul Amesbury won in 7:02.90.

The United States took silver in 7:03.81, while Cuba crossed third in 7:04.55.

The Americans finished first in the men's eight final, while the men's quad sculls title went to Cuba.
