Kenya's dreams to win the women's volleyball gold were shattered on Saturday after an embarrassing defeat to host Algeria by three straight sets at the ninth All Africa Games.

Ranked No. 1 in Africa, Kenya seemed unable to overcome an unfavorable environment created by the Algerian crowd. Within 74 minutes, the Kenyan ladies lost three sets by 23-25, 22-25 and 20-25.

In the other semi-final, Cameroon scored an easier 3-0 victory over Seychelles in 60 minutes (25-16, 25-16, 25-18).
