Brazil, Cuba and United States move closer to women's basketball semifinals |

Host Brazil, Cuba and the United States moved closer to the women's basketball semifinals after second round at the Pan American Games on Saturday. In Group B, Cuba won over Colombia 81-53. Yaima Boulet was the MVP of the game as she scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Elana Diaz made 13 points for the Colombians. Also in Group B, the United States crushed the Argentines 85-54. Emily Fox contributed 18 points and 2 assists to the Americans in 18 minutes. On the Argentine side Mariana Cava scored 13 points.
In Group A, host Brazil beat Mexico 88-44. Four Brazilians made at least 11 points in the match. Brazil's Micaela was the highest scorer with 22 points. Guard Adrianinha contributed 18. Mexican Brisa Silva scored 10 points. If Canada defeats Jamaica later this Saturday, the Brazilians will surely qualify for the semis.
