South Korea coach Pim Verbeek said on Tuesday that he expected a tough semifinal match against the outstanding Iraqi team at the Asian Cup.

"They (Iraqi players) reached the semifinals at the 2004 Athens Olympics, and they were in the final of last year's Asian Games, as well as in the semi-finals of the Gulf Cup," Verbeek said at a news conference.

"They beat Australia at the group stage, and I think this is a very good generation of Iraqi footballers, " he added.

The Dutch man said South Korea will play its best football to overcome Iraq and reach the final.

South Korea will play against Iraq on Wednesday at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur.
