Iraq coach Jorvan Vieira on Tuesday played down a 0-3 defeat to South Korea in a warm-up match before the Asian Cup, saying the circumstances are different.

"We went to South Korea to prepare for the Asian Cup and South Korea smashed us 3-0 in very different circumstances," he said.

"We have some information on them, everybody knows South Korea well, their strong and weak points," Vieira said.

He noted the Iraqi players will do their best to win.

"What I've tried to do with my players is to respect each other, to be together and to work and fight for their flag," he said.

Iraq will play against South Korea in the semi-final at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
