Eighteen Portuguese athletes have been qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games as of Thursday, Portuguese sports officials said.
Following is the list of the Portuguese athletes that have qualified for the Beijing 2008:
Athletics: Helder Ornelas and Paulo Gomes (marathon), Antonio Pereira and Augusto Cardoso (50km walk).
Swimming: Tiago Venancio (100m and 200m freestyle), Pedro Oliveira (200m breaststroke), Diogo Carvalho and Sara Oliveira (200m butterfly).
Shooting: Joao Costa, Manuel Vieira da Silva.
Sailing: Afonso Domingos/Bernardo Santos (star), Alvaro Marinho/Miguel Nunes (470), Jorge Lima/Francisco Andrade (49er), Gustavo Lima (laser) and Joao Rodrigues (radial).
