Dominican Republic government handed over 181,000 U.S. dollars to its 29 athletes that won medals at the 15th Pan American Games 2007 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the local press reported on Friday.
The Dominican Republic granted 400,000 local pesos (12,121 U.S. dollars) to the six gold medalists, 200,000 pesos (6,061 dollars) to the six silver winners, 100,000 pesos (3,030 dollars) to the 17 bronze medalists, and 50,000 pesos (1,515 dollars) to the coaches.
