Myanmar track and field athletes will be tested in two regional competitions during the next two months before the upcoming 24th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Thailand in December, according to the Myanmar Track and Field Federation (MTFF) Monday.
As preparations for the 24th SEA Games, the Myanmar athletes will compete in the Malaysian Open Invitational Track and Field Competition in September and the Pre-SEA Games Invitational Track and Field Competition in Bangkok, Thailand in October, the MTFF said.
To evaluate their records, the track and field athletes from the SEA countries will take part in these two international competitions, it added. Myanmar track and field team pocketed 4 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals in the 23rd SEA Games in Manila, the Philippines in December 2005. The Myanmar athletes won gold medals in women's 400-meter relay, women's 400- meter, women's 200-meter and men's 1,500-meter events.
