South Korean taekwondo player Heo Jung Nyoung, who won the men's over 84kg category at the Universiade on Thursday, said he hoped to win a gold in the upcoming Beijing Olympics.
Heo Jung Nyoung whitewashed Leonardo Basile from Italy 7-0 in the final here.
"I'm happy to win the gold," Heo said after the match.
Heo, who is also gold medalist for 2006 China Open International Taekwondo Championships, said the floor was slippery during today's competition but it didn't prevent him from winning.
The real test for Heo was the semifinal clash with Irani Morteza Rostami, gold medalist in 2003 World Taekwondo Championships.
The duel was so tough that they tied 7-7 even after the sudden- death round. Finally, Heo advanced to the final through referees' judgment.
