Yuriy Yurkov took the Kazakhstan's first shooting gold in the men's 50m rifle three positions in Bangkok on Saturday.
The 24-year-old Kazak entered the final on the second place with a score of 1,158 points from the three positions of prone, standing and kneeling, and grabbed the gold medal with a total of 1,251.4 points, three tenth of a point ahead of Milenko Sebic of Serbia.
Sebic climbed from the fifth before the final round to take the silver medal by shooting the highest final round score of 100.1 points out of ten shots.
Damian Kontny from Germany, the leader of the qualification with 1,159 points dropped to the third of total on 1,250.8 points.
