Great Britain produced the " fastest" man of the 24th Bangkok Universiade when Simeon Williamson was crowned the men's 100m in 10.28 seconds in Bangkok on Saturday.

Chinese sprinter Zhang Peimeng, clocking 10.33, claimed the silver medal, while Canadian Neville Wright finished third merely 0.01 second behind.

However, the Chinese athletics team immediately filed a formal complaint for an obvious false start of the gold medalist. The spectators also booed the champion while he was jogging along the track, holding the national flag in hands.

Zhang's teammate, Yin Hualong, competed in the final too, but only got the eighth place in 10.53.
