Host Thailand regained the team title of the women's 50m rifle prone with 1,743 points after a double check of the paper targets here on Monday at the 24th Universiade.
The Thailand team had an tied score of 1,742 points with China before the double check and was on the second place because of lower scores from the last serie of ten shots.
"We double-checked the targets of all three teams in the leading positions and found one of them counted a nine previously was actually a ten," said Tan Weichang, the classification jury. " And the piece of target had been checked through a meterage machine for the hole."
"There were three of us working on it, and we didn't care which team it was from. We were just responsible for the target."
The Chinese team who decided not to submit a protest thus took the silver medal with Russia third with 1,741 points.
