Mae-num Chirdkiatisak from the host nation Thailand claimed a gold in women's 47kg category taekwondo competition at the Universiade after defeating Chinese player Li Dan.
Mae-num outpointed Li 3-1 in the final.
"There were some problems with my tactics and she took the advantage," said Li, who won the Chinese taekwondo delegation to the Universiade the only medal.
The fans from the host nation cheered their player loudly during the final, however, Li said it didn't disturb her.
"I took it as also an encouragement for me," she said.
Li beat Lee Eun Me of South Korea, who eliminated Chinese Taipei player Yang Shu-chun in the quarterfinal, in the semi-final.
It was the first time for Li to compete in such kind of international multi-sport games.
The bronze was shared by Lee Eun Me of South Korea and Elaia Torrontegui from Spain.
