German soccer club Wolfsburg and Sparta Prague of the Czech Republic have reached agreement over the transfer of defender Jan Simunek to the Bundesliga side, German media reported on Monday.
Simunek - captain of the Czech Republic side that reached the final of the Under-20 World Cup in Canada earlier this summer - becomes Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath's 11th signing of the transfer window.
"I am sure that Jan will appear in my squad in the next game and with this, our defence will shore up. He is the biggest talent of the Czech Republic,"the former Bayern Munich coach told DSF television.
Simunek is expected to pen a four-year contract after he passes a medical later on Monday with the transfer fee believed to be in the region of 5.5 million euros (around 7.5 million US dollars).
