Olympic champion Peng Bo of China surpassed teammate and world champion Luo Yutong in the last round to win Friday the men's 3m springboard diving at the University Games.
The 26-year-old scored the game-high 91.80 points on the last jump to collect 486.25 points in the final, averaging 81.08 in each round.
Luo, who was second in Thursday's 1m springboard, scored 78.75 points in the last round to finish 474.10 points to win the silver.
Mexico's Roumel Pacheco was on third with 434.05 points.
The competition was the duel of the Chinese pair after the second round when the two exchanged the lead..
"The fourth jump was not satisfying, which stimulated me on the contrary to come all out for the victory," Peng said.
Peng closed the gap on the fifth one to 0.9 points before he made an almost perfect forward 2 1/2 somersault and two twists.
