Brazilians Angela Vieira/Danielle da Conceicao Cunha Vivian moved one step closer towards the title of the women's beach volleyball challenger held in Beijing's Chaoyang park on Saturday.
The fourth seeds, who ousted China's Li Yang/Hu Anna in Friday's quarterfinals, overcame some dicey moments in the second set to see off Thailand's third seeds Kamoltip Kulna/Yupa Puklongploy 21-9, 22-20.
The Brazilians looked on course for another easy win after claiming the opening set at 21-9, but the Thai duo came back with a 6-3 lead in the second set.
However, it proved to be only a flash in the pan when the Brazilian duet reeled off nine out of the next 12 points to overtake the lead at 12-10.
The Brazilian duo took the set after wasting two match points.
The other semifinal will feature Isabelle Eusabeth Klara Forrer/ Sarah Schmocker of Switzerland against Yue Yuan/Zhang Wenwen of China.
