The route for the torch relay of the 2008 Paralympic Games will be unveiled on September 6, 2007, to mark the one-year countdown to the Games, organizers announced on Friday.

The unveiling of the route will take place at the China Millennium Monument, one of the lankmark places in the Chinese capital, the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Olympics (BOCOG) said in a statement.

Coinciding with the occasion, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) will send invitation letters to the national and regional Paralympic committees to attend the Paralympics, BOCOG said.

A series of events will also be held across Beijing to celebrate the count-down.

The Paralympic Games will start on September 6, 2008, two weeks after the Olympic Games concludes.
