Bottom-ranked Poland finally won a match at the FIVB Grand Prix Finals as they made short work of Italy 3-0 at the Beilun Sports and Arts Center on Sunday.
The European champions, who lost all four previous matches at the five-day tournament, blitzed Italy 25-21, 25-18 and 25-19 in a lopsided match.
Poland coach Marco Bonitta, the last head coach of Italy, seemed to know the knacks on how to play his former team, and it did work when Poland looked almost invincible at the net, stuffing Italy's top scorer Taismary Aguero for a comfortable 25-21 and 25-18 big cushion after two sets.
The Italian attackers were still looking for their range in the third set while the Poles were just in the class of their own, leading 16-11 ahead at the second TTO. Spiker Anna Podolec closed out the match for Poland at 25-19.
