The president of Peru national soccer team selectors, Juvenal Silva announced on Tuesday that Peru could well use Lima's Monumental Stadium, 3,400 meters above sea level, for World Cup qualifying game.
Silva said the decision on Oct. 13 game's location would be taken on Monday, and that three stadium's are under consideration: Cusco's Garcilaso de la Vega Stadium, which is also 3,400 meters above sea level, and the Monumental Stadium.
Both stadiums are included on the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) lists, alongside Lima's National Stadium and Alejandro Villanueva Stadium, even though FIFA is opposed to official games more than 3,000 meters above sea level.
Silva said the topic will be discussed with Jose Del Solar, the former international who is the Peru national team's manager.
Peru's match against Paraguay is its first qualifier. It faces Chile as a visitor just four days later. Peru last took part in a World Cup in Spain in 1982.
