Bangladeshi cricket team began their preparations for the Twenty20 World Championship in South Africa on high note with they beating Kenya in the second game of the four-nation tournament which kicked off in Nairobi on Saturday.
According to a news release from the world cricket body, a composed 43 from Nazimuddin and a quick 36 from Mohammad Ashraful followed up a good bowling display as Bangladesh coasted to a five-wicket win over Kenya.
The East Africans, put in to bat, were restricted to 138 for 7, with Mashrafe Mortaza, Farhad Reza and Abdur Razzak picking two wickets apiece.
But in reply, Bangladesh, chasing 139, opened with Nazimuddin, playing his first international game and Tamim Iqbal. Tamim fell soon to Peter Ongondo for 11, but Aftab Ahmed played a belligerent hand at one-down.
The four-day competition will be completed when Pakistan face Kenya on September 4; two days later the teams - barring Uganda - fly to Johannesburg for the inaugural Twenty20 World Championship.
