The Diving World Series, which runs from Friday to Saturday in Mexico, has attracted diverse from 15 countries, including Chinese Olympic winner Guo Jingjing, Eldon Godfrey of the International Swimming Federation told a Tuesday press conference.
The Chinese team also includes Wang Xin, who won the World Championship for platform and Qin Kai, the overall world champion of the board.
"I can guarantee this event will be worth the trouble. It will be the best competition, the best sporting entertainment presented by the stars of our sport," said Godfrey.
The Chinese team was won the praise of its rivals, winning most of the competitions in the English city of Sheffield, the first date of the series. However, Godfrey argued that despite China's dominance all had a chance to win.
Other stars are men's three-meter board medalists Canada's Alexander Despatie and Russia's Dimitri Sautin and the United States's Try Dumais and Cuba' Jose Guerra.
First place in each category wins 5,000 U.S. dollars, second place wins 4,000 dollars and third place 3,000.
Any player that wins gold in all three competitions in the series --- England, Mexico and China - will win a 25,000 dollar bonus.
The full list of competing nations is as follows: Mexico, China, United States, Brazil, Cuba, France, Russia, Australia, Germany, Italy, Ukraine, Japan, Canada, Sweden, Austria and Malaysia.
