(Sports) Pakistan to compete in Shanghai Special Olympics

Around 100 players and officials will represent Pakistan in the forthcoming Special Olympics Summer Games in Shanghai, China, Special Olympics Pakistan announced on Wednesday.

The Pakistani contingent comprises 66 athletes, 22 coaches and eight officials and will compete in aquatics, athletics, badminton, bocce, cricket, football, basketball, tennis and table tennis.

The 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games is scheduled to be held in Shanghai from Oct. 2 to 11. Around 10,000 athletes from 170 countries will take part in the event.
