Ugandan distance runner Moses Kipsiro will be back on the track when he competes in a star-studded 3,000m Zurich Golden League leg Friday night.

Kipsiro, the holder of the 3,000m national record at 7 minutes 32.03 seconds, will be out on a super fast track against a strong team that includes American Bernard Lagat, world 1,500m and 5,000m gold medalist at the just concluded 11th World Athletics Championships in Japan.

"It will be my first race as I prepare for the World Finals," Kipsiro was quoted by state-owned New Vision on Friday as saying.

The start list in the anticipated thriller also include Ethiopian Tariku Bekele and Abraham Cherkos, Australian Craig Mottram, Spain's Jesus Espana and Kenya's trio of Edwin Soi, Joseph Ebuya and John Kibowen.

Kipsiro, who won bronze in the men's 5,000m final at the World Athletics Championships in Osaka, has been impressive in his 3,000m outings this season, only losing once to Kenenisa Bekele.
