South Korean businessman Park Yong-sung has decided to quit his post as president of the International Judo Federation (IFJ), his secretary's office said on Friday.
According to the Olympic charter, the resignation means Park loses his International Olympic Committee membership, as the post of IFJ head carries automatic IOC membership, the office said in a statement.
Park, who held the IJF presidency for 12 years, resigned amid disputes with executives of the European judo body, who has complained of Park's long-term leadership, the statement said.
Park was reinstated as an IOC member in April, about two years after he was suspended by the world sports body in connection with a corruption case stemming from a family feud over Doosan Group, South Korea's oldest conglomerate.
